How does CBD work in the Body?
Cannabinoids, such as CBD, interact with a system in our body that is present at birth. This system has receptors all over the body, from the brain to internal organs to skin. It’s called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). It has one the most important jobs, yet has just recently been discovered and researched. The ECS is responsible for maintaining homeostasis. In other words, keeping things in balance. We produce our own version of cannabinoids called endocannabinoids. When cannabinoids, such as CBD, are taken they mimic or help the efficacy of our own endocannabinoids. Due to poor diet, stress, alcohol, and other factors our endocannabinoids may become depleted and not work properly. This is one of the things that makes it possible for disease and/or disorders to emerge. CBD feeds the ECS and helps it to do its job, and restore health. Some of things the ECS manages are blood pressure, blood sugar, immune function, brain chemistry, inflammation, and pain response. Other compounds in the hemp plant such as terpenes, also have an affect on the ECS. When full spectrum CBD oil is taken, you are receiving an extensive array of properties that are reaching throughout the body, using the ECS, resulting in recovery and healing.
